At SHD, our design team is continually looking at ways in which we can improve the services we provide for clients.
The client provided the 3D model, which we then converted and imported into the lighting calculation package.
We then added the proposed outdoor lighting around the building and provided accurate lighting calculations and lux reading to ensure compliance with Guidance Notes for the Reduction of Obtrusive Light; GN01/21 (2021) as published by The Institution of Lighting Professionals (ILP).
The sports pavilion has residential housing close to the rear of the building, so it was important that any glare or light spill from the wall lights was kept to a minimum, which we demonstrated through a series of vertical lighting calculations across the facade of all nearby residential dwellings.
Our lighting impact assessment report provided the client with a detailed explanation of the proposed outdoor lighting, which can be used as part of the overall planning application.
