The design team at SHD Lighting Consultancy has completed another Section 38 lighting design for a new housing development for a client.
A new housing development of 60 plots required a street lighting design to adoptable local authority standards, with careful consideration required for bats and biodiversity that were identified in ecology reports.
The spine road had been previously designed, so we ensured our design matched the material specification and tied in perfectly with the existing street lighting design.
The design used warm white LED luminaires which incorporated special LED optics to reduce backlight to minimise light spill.
We even specified physical rear shields for luminaires in close proximity to house plots, which would eliminate any glare.
